Khan: Pakistan is preparing for any attack – NHK WORLD

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has accused India of planning an attack on the Pakistan-controlled portion of Kashmir, and said his country is preparing to respond.
Khan made that claim when he visited Muzaffarabad in the area on Wednesday for the first time since taking office. The day was the anniversary of the country’s independence.
Khan also referred to the Indian government’s revocation of autonomy for a Muslim-majority state in the India-administered part of Kashmir. Pakistan opposes the move.
He said his country will deal with the matter as an international issue. The government has asked the UN Security Council to hold an emergency meeting on it.
In the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, more than 1,000 people took part in a protest against India, also on Wednesday.
